(Cedar Rapids, IA) News Radio 600 WMT AM of Cedar Rapids proudly announces the 20th Annual Great Eastern Iowa Tractorcade. Organizers expect nearly 500 participating tractors on the ride this year, with hundreds of others supporting those drivers.
For those not familiar with the Tractorcade, many people compare it to RAGBRAI, only with tractors. This year, up to 500 tractors, along with more than 500 support people will take part in the ride, based out of Cresco, IA.
This event is a wonderful opportunity for tractor collectors and enthusiasts to celebrate their hobby and farm heritage together. What better place than the state of Iowa to do this—there truly is no other opportunity like this in the world!
The ride begins at the Mighty Howard County Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 9th. That night, the tractor drivers, along with their support teams, register, have a great dinner, get acquainted, attend the driver’s meeting and review the safety rules that govern Tractorcade. The public is invited to come see the tractors as they are staged at the fairgrounds on Sunday evening or anywhere along the route during the ride.
On Monday, June 10th, the tractors will roll out of Cresco around 7:00 AM and travel through Lime Springs, IA, Preston, MN, Harmony, MN and Kendallville, IA before returning to the Fairgrounds. Day two, Tuesday June 11, the parade of tractors will leave the fairgrounds starting around 6:30 AM and pass through Ridgeway, Spillville, Ft. Atkinson, St. Lucas, Waucoma, Lawler and Protivin on their way back to Cresco. The final day of driving will take Tractorcade 2019 on a loop to Bluffton and then head back to the fairgrounds. Each day the drivers will ride between 40 and 75 miles rolling through the countryside enjoying the scenery at 10-15 miles per hour.
