We will be opening Monday, June 15th. As of right now, we plan to be open our usual hours – 1:00 to 5:00pm and 6:00 to 9:00pm. Our capacity will be at 60 swimmers/people in the facility for now. We have a Covid Preparation Plan that will be posted on the door before you enter. There is not a residence limitation at this time. We have a scoreboard to help the public see how many swimmers are currently inside.
🧰 A lot of people have gone above and beyond to prep the pool for opening in under a week. The City chose not to paint the pool as that would have added another week of closed preparation. A special thank you to Marvin, Doug, and Hoogie from the City of Preston, Leigh Larson from Larson & Sons Plumbing and Heating, MariLyn, Sheila, and Joe from City Hall, and the lifeguard staff for putting in extra hours cleaning and setting things up! 👏👏
🚧 There are now one-ways to enter and exit the pool deck. There are neon X’s, signs, and plastic chain ropes to help guide the public with directions. Social distancing is expected of all patrons and swimmers. There will be a check-in station, please wait your turn. A hand sanitizer station is available on the pool deck as well as sinks for hand washing next to the bathrooms.
🏊♂️ We will be offering reduced family passes of $75 and single passes for $35. The daily rate remains the same at $4. REMINDER: we can only accept CASH OR CHECK. Please keep in mind and share with others, we are operating with 7 lifeguards. These are all veteran lifeguards that made the commitment to come back and work at the pool for us. New lifeguards could not be certified this year due to the shutdown. We will have a day here and there where the pool will be closed to prevent our high school staff from working more than 40 hours a week. We are very thankful for their dedication.
🤓 Baskets are now located on the pool deck for self checkout. There are going to be bathroom and changing room passes to keep the number of people in the changing room to FIVE at a time. If the passes are not hanging on the hook, they are in use. The passes are plastic and will be sanitized after each use.
🍦We will not be selling food concessions this summer to reduce the amount of interaction between staff and the public. We WILL have cold beverages available such as water, gatorade, and several pop choices. Punch cards will still be available for purchase and encouraged to reduce exchanging money.
⏰ Lastly, we are changing break times to every TWO hours which we will then sanitize the facility. Chairs, door handles, bathrooms, counters, etc. will all be disinfected. We will be asking swimmers/patrons to exit the pool and building to the front or side areas where social distancing can be practiced while we spray things down.
THANK YOU so much for your patience, encouragement, and small town kindness as we navigate this new experience. We’re going to take it a week at a time and make adjustments as needed. 😊🥰
